THE WASH-UP: Fremantle backman Garrick Ibbotson spoke to 3AW Football on Sunday afternoon.

Ibbotson admitted the defence was under siege late in the match.

‘Sydney was probably the better team at the end,’ Ibbotson said.

Ibbotson said he is upset by reports that Adam Goodes was booed by the Perth crowd.

‘I didn’t notice Adam being booed but it’s disappointing. It’s not something we condone.’

FULL TIME: Fremantle has booked a Preliminary Final with a thrilling win over Sydney.

The Swans ran home strongly, but ultimately fell nine points short.

The Swans had 25 scoring shots to 19, but their return of 7.18 shot them in the foot.

HALF TIME: Fremantle leads by 17 points. Sydney could be closer, but wayward shooting for goal has cost them.

Livewire Docker Michael Walters has kicked three goals to half time, while Josh Kennedy (16 disposals, seven tackles) has been typically prominent in midfield for the Swans.

Sydney forward Sam Reid has been subbed out with a hamstring injury.

Docker coach Ross Lyon was confident when speaking to 3AW Football before the game.

‘We haven’t been satisfied losing two goals per week,’ Lyon said.

‘But you don’t fluke where we are.

‘We’re clear about what the Swans do well and how to beat them.’

Lyon welcomed the discourse about his decision to rest half a team against Port Adelaide.

‘I’d be concerned if a team tapped out 14 players and there was no debate about it.’

=======

Fremantle raised eyebrows by resting 11 players in Round 23, with one eye on the Qualifying Final.

Will it help them run out the match against Sydney?

The Swans will sorely miss the grunt of Kieren Jack, the class of Luke Parker, and the presence of Lance Franklin.

Do they have the cattle to knock off the minor Premiers on their home deck?

3AW Football has a monster line-up from midday, you won’t want to miss this call.

TODAY’S LINE-UP from 12PM: Leigh Matthews, Bomber Thompson, Caroline Wilson, Tony Shaw, Tim Lane, Dwayne Russell, Bruce Eva, Sam ‘Scoop’ McClure.
