Hawthorn ruckman Ben McEvoy insists the Hawks are still a key player in 2017.

McEvoy spoke to 3AW in the rooms, saying they take no notice of speculation that the club’s era is over.

‘People can wonder all they like, we still know what wins games of footy,’ McEvoy said.

‘We’ve got no doubts we’re good enough to match it with the best.’

Hawthorn holds a 13-point lead at the main break.

Adelaide pressed hard in the second quarter, but wayward kicking meant they couldn’t apply any scoreboard pressure.

Luke Breust is the game’s only multiple goal-kicker with three.

The Crows are a man down after Josh Jenkins was taken to hospital with a suspected rib injury.
