Gang of youths wreak havoc at St Kilda beach
Five people have been hospitalised after a group of youths wreaked havoc at St Kilda beach, 3AW Mornings is told.
Police were called after reports that teens of African appearance were stealing mobile phones and bikes from kids at the pier.
They fled when police arrived, but re-convened afterwards.
Later in the evening, around 7.30pm, there was a brawl involving up to 30 people on Jacka Boulevard.
3AW listener Brad witnessed the incident and told Tony Jones it was an ‘absolute disgrace’.
Brad said his family left the scene terrified.
‘My nine-year-old said ‘Dad, can you make sure all the doors are locked’. He’s never asked that,’ he said.

Police have told 3AW Mornings there was a verbal altercation that lead to the brawl.
One teenage boy and two teenage girls suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
Two men who stepped in to intervene were also injured. One was coward punched and also taken to hospital.
No arrests have been made at this stage, the investigation is ongoing.
