Gary Ablett requested trade back to Geelong from Gold Coast, Sam McClure reveals on 3AW’s Sports Today

Gary Ablett Jnr sensationally requested a move back to Geelong during the trade period, Sam McClure has revealed.

Scoop said on Sports Today the two-time Brownlow medallist, who played in two premierships with the Cats, told the Suns he wanted to move home for family reasons.

But the club refused to let him go.

‘The Suns would not entertain it under any circumstance,’ Sam McClure said on 3AW.
