A Geelong mother says her three young children were left shocked when an Easter egg hunt at the Geelong showgrounds turned nasty.

Officials at the annual hunt are accused of leaving some children in tears after telling them to put some eggs back, after they’d collected their quota.

The children were even told, the Easter Bunny would ‘get angry’ with them if they didn’t do what they were told.

Rachel Lee who took her three kids to the event has told 3AW’s Tony Jones, they were left shocked.

‘They’re over it now. We went on the Saturday, and the Easter Bunny bought them more stuff on the Sunday,’ Ms Lee told 3AW Mornings.

‘On the day, they were really confused as to why people were taking Easter eggs from them.’

Rachel has told 3AW she won’t be returning to the show next year.
