Geelong shooting: Woman shot dead, man in custody

A man is in custody after a woman was shot dead in Geelong overnight.

The woman was found with gunshot wounds at the home on Conrad Court in the Geelong suburb of Whittington about 9.20pm.

She was taken to hospital but later died.

The Homicide Squad has been called in.

A man who was at the home at the time of the shooting has been taken into police custody.

He is assisting detectives with their enquiries.
