An 18 year-old has been caught trying to sell fake drugs to revelers in a Geelong nightclub.

Mitchell Thompson mixed baking soda with flour before approaching potential buyers at Home House Nightclub.

Greg Dundas, court reporter from the Geelong Advertiser says he was quickly stopped.

“He had eight bags but only managed to sell one before being nabbed by the security guard,” he told Ross and John.

Despite the drugs being fake, Thompson was still charged with trafficking.

“There was quite some discussion around this and the legal precedence around that charge.

“If you a promoting it to be cocaine, that charge can be sustained.”
