A Geelong woman who lost her father’s war medals yesterday says she is very upset but is hopeful the medals will be handed in.

Stephanie Broad says she was on Pakington St in Geelong West, somewhere between Preston St and West Memorial Park when she lost the Vietnam War medals.

“I searched the street and the park without any luck,” Stephanie said.

“I was probably picking up one of my children and maybe they were knocked off and hit the grass.

“They’re so valuable to me and the family.

“I lost my Dad, he died when I was only 17.”

One of the medals is the British Imperial Award, another is the Vietnamese Campaign medal.

The medals are the smaller version of the ones pictured.
