Gerard Healy’s message for Tom McDonald

Out of contract Melbourne defender Tom McDonald has been urged to sign on with the Demons now by former Melbourne midfielder Gerard Healy.

McDonald’s contract finishes at the end of this season and currently his form is ‘erratic’, despite being capable of being one of the best defenders in the league.

Speaking on 3AW Sports Today, Healy had a strong message for the big defender.

‘If your contract is keeping you awake at night and you’re going to stay at the Demons, pick up the phone and call Peter Jackson.

‘If you still need convincing that Melbourne are heading in the right direction, as you said you needed to see before you sign, then pick up the phone and call Peter Jackson.’

In regards to whether the club is heading the in the right direction, Healy’s thoughts are clear.

‘Quite simply, they are.’
