Gerard Healy worried Carlton’s hot start to 2016 could make it harder to win a flag
Brendon Bolton is probably coach of the year after 10 rounds.
But Gerard Healy worries his hot start in the coaching box could prove costly for Carlton in future.
The Sports Today host was discussing draft lottery suggestions, which have been thrown about this week, with Dwayne Russell and Matthew Richardson.
Healy said clubs like Carlton, which has five of its first 10 games, could be set back further by finishing mid-table under the current draft system.
‘It compromises people like Brendon Bolton and Carlton, who have had a fantastic start to season but arguably are taking themselves further away from a premiership in the short term,’ he explained on 3AW.
‘Because they haven’t, as yet, accumulated enough talent.’
