Getaway from alleged Northcote theft caught on camera

The brazen getaway from an alleged daylight robbery in Northcote has been caught on camera by neighbours.

The footage has been sent to the Neil Mitchell program, which police have also seen.

3AW has chosen remove the footage at the request of the victim.

Neighbour Chris was confronted with the scene when he went outside after the alarm had been sounding for almost one minute.

“The driver started beeping quite frankly, and then I hit record on my iPhone,” he told Neil Mitchell

“They’d kicked open the front door and robbed the house.

“I called the police immediately and they attended immediately. They were really responsive and helpful.

“They … confirmed their amazement at the brazen attempt of these people.”
