Gillon McLachlan says no China deal has been done with Gold Coast yet
AFL boss Gillon McLachlan says no decision has been made on who Port Adelaide will play in China.
He’s also rejected suggestions the league will be paying a club to do it.
There are reports Gold Coast will be paid $600,000 to move a home game to Shanghai.
But McLachlan told Neil Mitchell on Friday that no deal had been done.
‘It’s very clear now that the Gold Coast wants to be in China but the decision hasn’t been made,’ McLachlan said on 3AW Mornings.
‘There are other clubs interested.’
McLachlan also responded to claims the league would be ‘renumerating’ the club chosen.
‘We won’t be paying a club to do it,’ he said.
