Girl sexually assaulted in disturbing North Melbourne attack

An 11-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted at North Melbourne.

John alerted 3AW Afternoons to a heavy police presence at the corner of Boundary Road and Racecourse Road on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the property at 2pm.

The girl was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

A 31-year-old North Melbourne man has been charged with rape.

He’s been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
