‘Godfather of AI’ quits and sounds alarm over ‘scary’ dangers
One of the pioneers of artificial intelligence (AI) has resigned from Google and say he now regrets his work.
Geoffrey Hinton, 75, says AI now poses some “scary” dangers.
But Dr Hugh Williams, a former executive at Google and Microsoft who is now advisor to eBay and Tinder, says Mr Hinton’s comments are overblown, and “every technology has side effects and consequences”.
