Gold Coast defender Steven May has been whacked with a five-match ban for his huge hit on Stefan Martin.

May fronted the AFL tribunal on Tuesday, pleading guilty to the rough conduct charge from Saturday’s fiery Q-Clash against the Brisbane Lions.

The Gold Coast defender’s poor record didn’t help his cause.
