Gold Coast Suns to trade Harley Bennell
LATEST: Harley Bennell is officially up for trade.
Gold Coast says the troubled midfielder is no longer required at the Suns in the wake of another controversial incident involving the former No.2 draft pick.
Bennell was issued with a public nuisance notice following a nightclub incident on the Gold Coast overnight.
It’s alleged Bennell had a confrontation with a security guard, slapping a cigarette out of his hand.
The Suns said they would ‘continue to help Harley’ but would be parting ways with the talented speedster during this year’s trade period.
Melbourne and Essendon are understood to be interested in making a play for Bennell.
He has two years left on his contract.
