Goldstein rumours ‘just gossip’: Eagles

The West Coast Eagles have dismissed rumours that North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein could be headed west.

It has been reported that Goldstein could be seeking a trade to the Eagles, however their list manager Craig Vozzo says it is ‘just gossip’.

‘We rate him very highly at our club,’ Vozzo told Sports Today.

‘Unfortunately we’re not in a position to do anything there.’

With the knee injury to Nic Naitanui, the Eagles are on the hunt for a ruckman and they have shown considerable interest in Geelong’s Nathan Vardy, who had a medical at the club this week.

‘We’re having a look,’ Vozzo said.

‘He’s a player that can play forward/ruck, that’s our preference.’

Vozzo also confirmed West Coast’s interest in Marcus Adams, who is seeking a trade back home to Western Australia from the Bulldogs.
