Government hails opening week of drug injecting facility a ‘success’
The state government has hailed the opening week of the North Richmond drug injecting room a “success”.
There have been more than 400 visits already.
95 per cent of those using the facility have used heroin.
The government says lives have already been saved, with 12 overdoses inside the centre.
Police attended reports of an assault near the centre on Thursday, however, no official complaint has since been made.
