Government ‘making some noise’ about Metro Tunnel project budget blowing out even further

The state government is “making some noise” the ongoing construction of the Metro Tunnel will blow out again, according to Heidi Murphy.

Reports on Thursday alluded to the project – which is nearing completion – had run out of funding which had been earmarked to cover any unexpected costs.

“(The government is) certainly making some noise about needing some extra money,” Heidi Murphy told 3AW Mornings.

“It hasn’t been an official request yet…but he’s conceding it’s possible there will be an increase (in cost).”
