Government to close loophole that allowed 12-year-olds to ride jet skis

Teenagers will soon be banned from riding jet skis without an adult on board.

The minister responsible, Luke Donellan, has confirmed to 3AW Breakfast a loophole which allows 12 to 16-year-olds to ride solo, so as long as they have a restricted marine licence, will be closed.

‘We’re heading for disaster if we keep allowing that,’ Minister Donellan said on 3AW Breakfast.
