Grandmother attacked by dog in Geelong, owner simply walks away
THE RUMOUR FILE
An elderly lady has been bitten by an aggressive dog, causing her to fall to the ground, and the animal’s owner simply walked away, according to the woman’s granddaughter.
Raised on The Rumour File this morning, 79-year-old Betty was delivering newspapers in Coolalie Court, Grovedale yesterday when a woman with two dogs on a lead walked past.
Betty’s granddaughter Louise said one of the dogs, black and white in colour, lunged at Betty and bit her arm, before lunging again, causing her to fall to the ground.
Louise claims the dog’s owner scalded her pet but did not stop to render assistance and simply walked away.
Betty was eventually able to drive herself to a medical clinic but was “very shaken and upset” but is now recovering “as well as can be expected”.
Louise says a report has been made to police.
