Grant Thomas and Dee Dee clash over Dustin Martin media snub

Former St Kilda coach Grant Thomas and 3AW Afternoons host Dee Dee Dunleavy have clashed over Dustin Martin’s apparent “media snub” after his return for Richmond at the weekend.

Martin played his first game since Round 1 on Saturday after taking personal leave following his father’s sudden death.

It’s been reported the media-shy Martin refused to be interviewed on Fox Footy after the game.

Dee Dee questioned whether that was fair enough, given the millions upon millions of dollars media companies spend on the sport.

But Thomas said Martin should only speak publicly when ready.

“I think his circumstances need to be respected,” he said.

A debate ensued.
