A six-year-old London boy was left terrified after a puzzle game he was playing on an Android phone was interrupted by footage showing Hamas militants, frightened Israeli families and graphic vision.

And it’s not an isolated incident.

Digital wellbeing expert Dr Kristy Goodwin says she’s “hearing from many upset, distressed families that this is an issue that is happening on our shores”.

“Inappropriate content is often spliced into other content so it looks like generic child specific content at the beginning and then inappropriate footage is often spliced in,” she told Ross and Russel.
