It’s election season, and refugee policy is on the agenda.

Tom Elliot has had a spirited debate with Greens candidate for Maribyrnong, Olivia Ball.

‘The government has offered to take 12,000 Syrians, which would be tremendous if we did, but we’ve taken 26 so far,’ Dr Ball said.

‘We can’t take all the refugees in the world, but we should do our share.’

But Tom doesn’t think there should be a set level of morality put on the number of refugees we take in.

‘I think we do enough. The Greens disagree. Wouldn’t be the first time,’ he said.
