Greens MP says uncapped rent increases ‘should be illegal’

A Senate inquiry into the rental crisis will soon be underway, with the Greens pushing the Albanese government to freeze rents.

Federal Greens housing spokesperson Max Chandler-Mather says Australia is “one of the worst places to be a renter in the world, because rents can go up by an unlimited amount”.

“Unlimited rent increases should be illegal,” he told Tom Elliott.
