About a dozen businesses devastated by the Maribyrnong River flood last October are having difficulty accessing a government relief payment.

The State and Federal Governments had promised grants of up to $200,000 for medium to large businesses impacted by the flood.

But Greens MP Ellen Sandell has told Tony Jones, six months on and there is no mention of the criteria for the grants on government websites.

Tony Jones also spoke to Rochester local, Leigh Wilson, who claims the town has been forgotten about since the flood six months ago.

“It rips the soul out of a small community, when you’ve got such levels of displacement and hardship going on,” Mr Wilson told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
