Greens performance on election night labelled a ‘disaster’

A political expert has labelled the Greens’ election performance as a “disaster” as the party searches for answers on what went wrong.
The party has lost a number of seats in Queensland they were expecting to retain, while the long-held Greens seat of Melbourne – which belongs to party leader Adam Bandt – is also tighter than expected.

“(The polling results are) a disaster for the Greens,” Monash University Senior Lecturer in Politics Dr. Zareh Ghazarian told 3AW’s Election Night Special.
“Losing the seat of Griffith and Brisbane (in Queensland) and even Adam Bandt in Melbourne looks to be in real trouble.”
