The Victorian Greens have been slammed for asking for political donations in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

The minor party has sent an email out, asking people to “join us by chipping in $3 a week” with a link to donate.

Daniel Andrews accused the Greens of using the pandemic as a “fundraising tool” while speaking parliament on Wednesday.

Tom Elliott was equally baffled by the message.

“Have the Greens not noticed that people are losing their jobs left, right and centre?” the 3AW Drive host asked.

“Businesses are closing down, and as the premier said, some businesses have zero income at the moment.

“And here’s the Greens, putting out their hand for our money.

“Guys, not the right time to do that.”
