The Victorian Greens will be introducing a bill to Parliament later this week that seeks to expand current state anti-vilification laws to protect the LGBTQIA+ community from hate.

Greens member and LGBTQIA+ spokesperson Gabrielle de Vietri says the bill will seek to protect the community from hate speech and other forms of vilification.

“Right now, someone can spread hatred, can incite contempt against someone like we’ve seen on the steps of Parliament,” Ms Vietri told Tom Elliott.
