More than 430,000 Victorian households have been left without power after savage winds wreaked havoc across the state.

And there are warnings some homes won’t have their electricity restored for days.

Spokeswoman for CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy, Emma Tyner, says they’re “still seeing (outage) numbers climb”.

“We’ve mobilised extra crews. They’ll be working throughout today but also into the weekend,” she told Neil Mitchell.

NEIL MITCHELL: “You think some people are going to be without power throughout the weekend?”

EMMA TYNER: “The extent of damage we’re seeing, yes … there will be customers that are off over the weekend.”

“This wind, it’s been quite extraordinary,” Ms Tyner said.

“We are throwing all resources at this.”
