GWS Chairman Tony Shepherd refutes claims Wayne Campbell was installed at the Giants by the AFL

GWS Chairman Tony Shepherd has strongly refuted claims that General Manager of Football, Wayne Campbell, was installed by the AFL to guide the club through troubled waters.

‘That is just ridiculous, it is completely unfair.’ he told Sportsday.

‘We ran a proper process, I don’t go through this recruitment process and sit on an interviewing committee just for the fun of it.’

‘The relationship is as good and strong as it’s ever been, portraying it as a master/servant relationship is totally incorrect….I find it bemusing and also a little bit insulting.’ he said.
