Harsher new penalties for speeding drivers

Harsh new penalties for speeding drivers come into effect today.

Drivers caught speeding between 25 and 35 km/h over the limit will have their licence immediately suspended for three months.

It used to be one month.

The same penalty applies to anyone who exceeds the speed limit by 20-25 km/h in a 110 zone.
