‘Haven’t lived up to their promise’: Retail expert sounds alarm on self-service checkouts

Associate Professor & Chair of Sociology at Drew University in New Jersey, Chris Andrews, has voiced his concerns on self-service checkouts in supermarkets.

Professor Andrews is the author of Overworked Consumer: Self-Checkouts, Supermarkets, and the Do-It-Yourself Economy and claims the checkouts “haven’t lived up to their promise”.
