Hawks racism report author arrested as part of fraud investigation

The author of the bombshell Hawthorn racism report has been arrested as part of a fraud investigation at a Victorian Aboriginal organisation.

Victoria Police financial crime squad detectives arrested and questioned former Richmond footballer Phil Egan yesterday.

He’s been released and is expected to be charged on summons with fraud-related offences.

Mr Egan denies any wrongdoing during his time as CEO of the Murray Valley Aboriginal Co-operative.
