Sly has told protestors to do more research on the history of Captain Cook, saying historically he was a “huge fan” of First Nations people.

His comments come after recent discussion around Australia Day, plus the defacing of several Captain Cook statues around Victoria.

“I wish these protesters would spend as much time doing research as they do (spending time defacing statues),” he told Ross and Russ on 3AW Breakfast.
