Heartless thieves steal presents from under great-grandmother’s Christmas tree

3AW AFTERNOONS

Callous thieves have snatched Christmas presents from under a great-grandmother’s tree.

The gifts were stolen from 87-year-old Bettie’s lounge room in the small NSW town of Mathoura on Friday night.

Bettie’s daughter, Ros, says “she could barely talk, she was so sort of heartbroken” after the theft.

Among the gifts stolen was a china tiger which belonged to Bettie’s son originally, and has sentimental value.

If you’ve seen the tiger dumped anywhere near Mathoura, let 3AW Afternoons know – afternoons@3aw.com.au.
