Heidi Murphy accuses Jacinta Allan of ‘gaslighting’ Victorians amid crime crisis

Heidi Murphy has accused Premier Jacinta Allan of “gaslighting” Victorians amid the state’s crime crisis.

The Premier stated the changes the state government has made has seen “more people put in jail and not being released on bail”, as well as the “incredibly important” machete ban.

“It feels like you’re gaslighting us when you say these things are working,” the 3AW host said to the Premier.

“As the Premier, I’ve taken responsibility to give police additional powers, to introduce a ban on machetes and to toughen bail laws,” Allan said on 3AW Drive.

The Premier also defended her government’s need to legislate the right to work from home.
