Heidi Murphy sums up the debate between Josh Frydenberg and Monique Ryan

Josh Frydenberg and Monique Ryan went head-to-head in a much-publicised debate in the lead-up to the federal election.

Dr Ryan shapes a serious chance of knocking the federal treasurer out of his seat later this month.

Heidi Murphy from 9 News was at the debate and told Tom Elliott there was hardly a “knockout” blow delivered by either side.

“I think you’d give the points to Josh, and this is what several undecided voters said to us as they were leaving,” she said.

“I spoke with several (people) – most of them gave it to Josh – but several said they expected him to be the more polished performer.

“But several were impressed, and they weren’t expecting to be impressed, by Dr Monique Ryan they told us.”
