Helicopter hovering over Glenroy as police swarm street

A helicopter has been spotted hovering around Plumpton Avenue, Glenroy with residents telling 3AW Mornings the street has been blocked off and police have swarmed the street.

Caller Gary says the helicopter has circled the area for almost an hour.

“Yeah, circling around the Glenroy area and looks like it’s going as far as Coburg,” he said.

Victoria Police have told 3AW they were alerted to a stolen vehicle dumped at a property this morning.

“It is understood that the silver Audi sedan was dumped by an unknown male in Golf Links Road about 9.30am. Despite the assistance of airwing, investigators were unable to locate the man seen leaving the vehicle,” they said.
