Black Sabbath frontman and heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at the age of 76 overnight, just weeks after his final performance.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told 3AW Breakfast that while the musician’s poor health was well known, he thought Osbourne had a “few laps to go yet”.

“He was still fully present [at the concert] and put on a great show … and [he left] a tip for $250 million for the local charities, it’s a hell of a way to go out,” he said.
