Hero off-duty police officer ‘doing well’
An off-duty police officer who tackled the driver that mowed down pedestrians outside Flinders St station is “doing well” and receiving ongoing support.
Victorian Police Association secretary Wayne Gatt told 3AW Breakfast he spoke with the officer last night.
And he said yesterday’s incident particularly affected officers who responded to the Bourke St rampage.
“Several of the members who responded to [yesterday’s] incident … absolutely attended Bourke St,” he said.
“So this will obviously cause them to relive some of those experiences.”
