A hero postie has come to the aid of an injured elderly man in Melbourne’s south east.

Mark Jacob was on his run at Dingley earlier this month when he noticed a man slouched on the ground near a broken window.

The 91-year-old Dingley Village resident had fallen late at night and used an iron bar to break the window as he lay on the floor hoping for help.

All the doors of the home were locked.

He’d been there for 10 hours when Mark arrived.

The elderly man was taken to hospital for scans but was cleared of serious injury.

‘He said he was going to the bathroom and slipped,’ Mr Jacob told Ross and John.
