‘Heroic’: 13-year-old saves two teenagers from drowning

Two teenage girls have been saved from drowning after getting caught in a rip at Venus Bay thanks to the heroic actions of a 13-year-old lifesaver.

Tom Walsh told 3AW Afternoons he was hanging out at the beach Monday night with a family member when he spotted the girls.

“I was a little worried about my safety but I reckon I was fine … I’ve been training for it,” he said.
