‘He’s a state politician!’: Tom Elliott reacts to absurd lie regarding Ben Carroll

Tom Elliott has clashed with a pro-Palestine protester who claims deputy premier, Ben Carroll signed an arms deal in 2022 with Israel, as defence minister.

Teacher, and spokesperson for Mums for Palestine, Luci Heyworth, made the claim at a protest aimed to stop the state education minister from visiting a school in Broadmeadows.

But as Tom Elliott pointed out – Victoria doesn’t have a defence department.

“You said minister of defence? He’s a state politician, we don’t have a defence department in the state government!” he said.
