‘He’s jealous’: Deputy Lord Mayor returns serve on Basil Zempilas’ Boxing Day Test comments

Deputy Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Councillor Nick Reece, has returned serve to Perth Mayor Basil Zempilas’ comments towards Melbourne’s crowd figure for the opening day of the Boxing Day Test.

Councillor Reece accused Zempilas of being “jealous” of Melbourne’s crowds and claimed he’s turned into a bit of a “green-eyed monster”.

“He’s bowled up a sledge that is so wide of the mark, it’s a wonder he hasn’t put his shoulder out,” Councillor Reece told Shane McInnes on 3AW Mornings.
