Neil Mitchell expects Labor to “fiddle” with its controversial plan to abolish cash refunds for shareholders with excess imputation credits.

The 3AW Mornings host has also praised the leadership qualities of Anthony Albanese.

Mr Albanese joined Neil Mitchell in studio on Thursday to discuss the policy.

“He’s starting to look more like a leader every day, Anthony Albanese,” Neil Mitchell said.

“He towed the company line but didn’t seem comfortable with it.”

Neil Mitchell said a robocall going around on the eve of the Batman by-election was misleading.

“It’s nonsense,” he said.

“It’s garbage.

“The policy hits pensioners and self-funded retirees who aren’t rich – nowhere near it.”
