Almost 30 years since her on-screen dad Robert Hughes sexually abused her on the set of Seven’s Hey Dad! child star Sarah Monahan has released her autobiography Allegedly this week.

She told Denis Walter that a producer, who she and other victims confided in about Hughes’ behaviour, told her not to cause a fuss as the program was such a high-rating television series.

‘He was always very hands on, and gropey,’ Ms Monahan said. ‘We were told we needed to be quiet.’

In May 2014, Robert Hughes was convicted of ten sexual offences against children. He is sentenced to 10 years and 9 months imprisonment with a minimum non-parole period of 6 years.
