High levels of cocaine found in the muscles and livers of thirteen Brazilian ‘sharpnose’ sharks
Marine biologists tested 13 Brazilian ‘sharpnose’ sharks taken from the shores near Rio de Janeiro and found they tested for high levels of cocaine in their muscles and livers.
Dr. Tracy Fanara, Environmental Engineer and Ocean scientist in Florida joined 3AW Breakfast to discuss how the Sharks potentially had drugs in their system.
“We really don’t know what the cocaine is doing to these sharks,” Dr Fanara said on 3AW Breakfast.
