High-rise housing sector hit with ‘Gatto tax’

A so-called “Mick Gatto tax” has been uncovered and slapped on apartment buyers in the high-rise housing sector.

Journalist Nick McKenzie told 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft it is evidence the corruption had now spread from the government’s Big Build.

“He has been representing more than six major plastering companies, they all pay him a fortune, that’s added into the cost of high-rise housing,” he said.
