Traffic lights hold up Hoddle St re-opening

Gremlins in the traffic light system continue to plague the Hoddle St re-opening.

Roadworks were completed by this morning’s 4am deadline after eight days of closures, but traffic light issues stalled the re-opening of north-bound traffic by more than two hours.

It was initially thought the lights were working, before the problems resumed.

Drivers coming off the Eastern Freeway cannot turn right onto Hoddle St; they need to stay on Alexandra Parade.

Signs are now doing the job of traffic lights.
